Turning Pornhub Into a Learning Hub
Pornhub is well-known in the adult industry. Most content here is NSFW and aims to help people enjoy themselves.
But Zara Dar, an American Ph.D dropout, decided to take the platform to another planet.
At the beginning of 2024, she posted a video called “So what are Integrals?” A video that should typically be posted on YouTube or any university website.
But her 6-minute video has now reached over half a million views, more than 450 likes, and an 87% thumbs-up rating. These are amazing stats for a fully clothed video in which Zara Dar explains precise mathematics problems and engineering stuff in front of a whiteboard.
Her journey to teach people on unorthodox platforms does not stop at Pornhub, as she declared making over a million in revenue through her different accounts on Pornhub, OnlyFans, and Youtube. She still has a more spicy OnlyFans page on which she’s sharing content for sapiosexual people.
From Grad School to Pornhub Fame
Zara Dar first started grad school in machine learning research. But quickly, some school pressure and a desire for creative freedom led her to drop out. She even posted a video on Pornhub in which she explains in detail why she made that choice.
From her doubts and a tiny bit of jealousy towards people her age who were more advanced in their careers to how trying this journey can be truly rewarding.
And rewarding it is! On YouTube, a million views would net her around $430. On Pornhub? That same reach earns her $1,000. The difference surely justifies her choice of unconventional platforms.
Creators like Dar see Pornhub as a platform that’s less restrictive and more rewarding than traditional social media. Ironically, her experiences with social media bans—despite adhering to guidelines—have driven her further toward platforms like Pornhub, where creators have more control over their content.
Challenges of Being a Multi-Platform Creator
Despite her success, Dar has faced setbacks. Her LinkedIn account was banned after she openly discussed her work as a content creator.
“It’s frustrating that verification isn’t required for other users, yet my account was banned for sharing a straightforward fact about my content creation career. I was engaging professionally, but LinkedIn’s strict handling of this situation feels counterproductive to its purpose,” she explained.
This double standard is a recurring issue for creators who straddle professional and adult industries.
Social media bans are not uncommon for those in the adult industry, further highlighting why platforms like OnlyFans and Pornhub are becoming refuges for creators seeking stability and fairness. These platforms offer financial opportunities and a chance to present content without constant fear of removal.
Why Zara Dar’s Content Resonates
Even though she’s not the first to post SFW content on this kind of platform, the fact that it’s that precise made it blow. Part of her viewers might have watched it here because it’s unconventional or just for the thrill of being on a porn site rather than YouTube to learn about scientific stuff.
She’s also redefining what it means to be an OnlyFans model. The platform is slowly opening itself to athletes, musicians, and now some more educative content creators! Her academic career might have helped her to build a loyal audience in her content creator career. Some people can identify more easily with her.
And for sure, some people prefer to learn about “what’s a neural network” with a stunning girl on Pornhub than in a 1998 book. Ultimately, her story is a true inspiration for people who like to walk on the wild side for their professional careers!
