OnlyFans Founder Wants TikTok—Here’s What That Wild Takeover Could Look Like

Crypto startup Zoop, led by the ex-OnlyFans boss, is bidding to buy TikTok—and the internet’s already imagining the chaos.

Just when the TikTok drama couldn’t get any messier, the founder of OnlyFans stepped into the ring—and he didn’t come alone. Tim Stokely, who launched the world’s most famous adult subscription platform in 2016 and exited in 2021, has reappeared with a bold new plan.

His crypto-based startup Zoop has submitted a bid to buy TikTok—yes, that TikTok—alongside a strategic partnership with the HBAR Foundation, which manages the Hedera crypto network. In a statement to Reuters, Zoop co-founder RJ Phillips made the team’s intentions crystal clear.

TikTok’s in Trouble—and Zoop’s Ready to Take Over

TikTok is running out of time. U.S. lawmakers gave its parent company, ByteDance, until April 5 to sell the app or face a full-on ban. The pressure’s real. After losing a Supreme Court appeal and briefly going dark in January, TikTok’s future in the U.S. is hanging by a thread—and everyone’s watching.

That’s when Zoop stepped in. The new crypto-powered platform, started by OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely, just made an official bid to buy TikTok. But don’t get it twisted—Zoop isn’t about adult content. It’s clean, mainstream, and built to give creators more freedom and better pay through blockchain tech.

Zoop is also about to launch a digital trading platform where fans can collect and trade 3D celebrity cards—kind of like a VIP fan club, but with actual perks you can use, sell, or flex. The tech runs on Polygon, and the goal is simple: reward fans for showing up and being part of the hype.

TikTok Takeover: What’s the Plan?

Could we be looking at a future where TikTok introduces paywalls, subscriptions, or tip jars like the OnlyFans way? Possibly. While Zoop says it’s family-friendly, the OnlyFans association brings some major baggage—and intrigue. TikTok already rolled out tipping features and limited creator monetization tools, but a Zoop-led takeover could accelerate those shifts dramatically.

Fans are speculating about “Premium TikTok” accounts, private video feeds, or pay-per-view content. It’s not just about nudity—it’s about changing the entire creator-fan economy. But with that comes questions. Will TikTok’s hyper-accessible culture get lost in monetization? Will creators be forced to choose between reach and revenue?

And then there’s the branding risk. TikTok has worked hard to keep its image youth-focused and ad-friendly. A takeover by anyone linked to OnlyFans—no matter how distant—might scare off advertisers, tighten content moderation, or spark a new wave of cultural debates. Still, the internet can’t help but wonder: if the guy behind OnlyFans buys TikTok… what’s going to change? Before the platform’s launch, Zoop co-founder RJ Phillips told Business Wire:

The Bidding War Is Heating Up

Of course, Zoop isn’t the only one eyeing TikTok. According to The New York Times, the list of TikTok suitors is starting to look like a billionaire roll call. Amazon sent a surprise offer addressed to VP JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, though insiders say no one’s really taking it seriously. Oracle—already hosting TikTok’s U.S. user data—has reportedly been in talks to expand its role, possibly with BlackRock in tow. Blackstone’s name is also floating around as a potential minority investor. The wildcards? Former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt is assembling a bid. AppLovin, the mobile tech giant, is sniffing around. And yes—even MrBeast has been mentioned in a creator-backed bid that has the internet on fire. With the April 5 deadline closing in fast, ByteDance is running out of time—and options.

At the same time, the legal battle is heating up. Free speech advocates argue that banning TikTok sets a dangerous precedent, while lawmakers insist it’s about national security and data protection. The political tension hasn’t cooled, and former President Donald Trump confirmed the stakes are high. In an interview, Trump told Reuters:

TikTok’s Future: A Plot Twist Waiting to Happen

OnlyFans built the empire. TikTok owns the feed. Now imagine both under the same roof. If Zoop pulls this off, we’re not just talking about a buyout—we’re talking about a total remix of the internet. Paywalls, crypto tips, private content, AI tools, premium creators… this could be the moment TikTok grows up—or blows up.

The line between viral and NSFW is already thin. If this deal lands, that line might disappear altogether. So buckle up. The next era of social media might be sexier, wilder, and 100% unfiltered.
