Great British Bake Off Champion Reveals How Much Money He Made On OnlyFans
John Whaite has been making a fortune.
The 2012 Great British Bake Off champion and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Whaite has spoken about his earnings from the online platform OnlyFans and explained why he is stepping away to devote more time to his baking career.
Whaite disclosed that over an 11 month period on OnlyFans he took home 270,000 dollars, which is roughly 200,000 pounds. In a recent Instagram Q and A, he was asked about earnings and success. He replied that he does not like discussing personal wealth but acknowledged that there is a range of opinions about his earnings on the platform. He stated, “The truth, honestly, in 11 months I took home $270,000, so it can be a very lucrative platform if I had spent more time on that and more of my time solely to OnlyFans, I probably could have double, tripled, or quadrupled that.” He added that the platform translated to about £200,000.

The former Bake Off winner had previously described his OnlyFans journey as giving him a sense of freedom in his sexuality, and he has since indicated that he came to terms with the venture over time. However, he also noted that he later decided to step away from the platform. He announced his departure with an Instagram post in which he said, “I’m leaving OnlyFans. Life has shifted in a way I couldn’t have predicted – Ruff Puff Bakehouse and Ruff Puff Brownies have taken up so much of my time, but in the best possible way.”
Earlier this year he shared evidence of his standing on OnlyFans by posting a screenshot showing he was in the top 0.41 per cent of all creators on the platform. The metric highlighted his early success on the site before his decision to discontinue his involvement.
In his departure message Whaite explained that his focus has shifted to his baking ventures. He stated that his work with Ruff Puff Bakehouse and Ruff Puff Brownies has taken up a great deal of his time, and that these projects have reminded him of a talent he had neglected. He described his new chapter as meaningful and described his value as lying in baking and sharing rather than physical appearance or muscular display.

The Well known TV personality reflected on his career and the personal challenges along the way. He described a renewed sense of purpose and said that, for the first time since Bake Off 13 years ago, he feels a direction that aligns with his long term goals. He posted a selfie with his dog to accompany the message and thanked his peers on OnlyFans for their support during his time on the platform.

Whaite was part of the Bake Off 2012 lineup that made history by featuring the first same sex pairing in the competition and reach the final. He has since maintained a presence on television, including appearances on other programs, though he has said he would not necessarily seek frequent TV work in the near future. His latest move signals a return to his roots in the kitchen and his emphasis on building a sustainable career centered on baking and product development rather than screen time.
In his closing remarks on the social post, Whaite emphasized that he is not defined by a single aspect of his career. He concluded with the line, “I’m not Jonny Boy, I’m just John, and I’m putting one foot in front of the other just like the rest of the world.” The announcement marks a new chapter for the Bake Off champion as he channels his energy into his baking business while maintaining a public presence in the broader culinary and television landscape.
