Donald Trump Moves to Wipe Out Porn!

The internet has exploded with panic and confusion over a new anti-porn bill that’s gaining traction in the U.S. Congress. Backed by Trump-aligned conservatives and introduced by Republican Rep. Mike Johnson, the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act aims to make online pornography a federal crime. Yes, you read that right.

The bill, if passed, could criminalize the distribution of adult content across state lines. When asked about the growing backlash, Johnson told Newsweek:

“Morality” or Control?

The proposed bill claims to “clearly define” what counts as obscene content, but critics say it’s dangerously vague. If passed, it could target everything from hardcore adult films to OnlyFans selfies. And let’s be real, defining “obscene” in a country this diverse is a legal and cultural minefield.

The bill threatens porn sites, but creators who built careers on OnlyFans, cam models, and, yes, even fans sharing spicy material on platforms like Reddit or Twitter. These platforms rely on digital subscriptions, direct fan interaction, and global traffic. It’s not just about what’s posted, but how it’s shared.

Any transmission of adult content that crosses state lines could be penalized, even if it’s consensual and legal in the user’s home state. That’s a nightmare for an internet-based industry that thrives on cross-border audiences.

Part of a Bigger Plan?

The bill didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s part of a broader conservative agenda tied to Project 2025, a transition blueprint designed to reshape American government if Trump returns to power. That document includes strict proposals for “morality enforcement” and reshaping the Department of Justice.

Project 2025 pushes for a rollback of LGBTQ+ protections, tighter restrictions on reproductive rights, and now, this sweeping crackdown on adult content. If enacted, it could turn popular adult sites into legal landmines overnight.

Digital rights groups are on high alert, warning that these laws are being passed faster than the public can understand them. Some experts warn it’s an indirect attack on the adult industry itself. Digital rights activist Evan Greer told Yahoo News:

Already Passed: Revenge Porn Laws

While the anti-porn bill is still under review, another related law just passed. The Take It Down Act, aimed at revenge porn, received bipartisan support and was sent to Trump’s desk earlier this year. It allows victims to remove non-consensual images and videos from the web. That law is being praised for protecting individuals from abuse.

But critics worry that its momentum is being used to fast-track broader legislation like the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act. After all, if Congress could unite on one form of content removal, what’s to stop them from going further? There’s also confusion about enforcement.

Who decides what’s “revenge porn” versus artistic expression or consensual sharing? And could this gray area be weaponized against adult workers who rely on content distribution? Free speech advocates are already preparing for a court battle. The bill, they say, violates the First Amendment, which protects consensual adult expression, even the X-rated kind.

The Fight for the Future of Adult Content

If the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act becomes law, it could flip the entire adult industry upside down. Creators might be silenced, platforms could vanish, and fans across the country may find their favorite content suddenly criminalized.

The debate now isn’t just about porn, it’s about power, privacy, and who gets to decide what’s “acceptable” online. With Project 2025 lurking behind the scenes and lawmakers pushing censorship under the banner of morality, the stakes have never been higher.

Free speech, sexual expression, and personal freedom are all on the line. Because if this bill passes, what you watch behind closed doors could become Washington’s business.
