In April 2023, Michael Dale, 56, paid Michaela Rylaarsdam $11,000 for a fetish session at his home. Dale’s specific request was to be wrapped in saran wrap like a mummy, have women’s boots glued onto his feet, and have adhesive poured onto his eyes to seal them shut.

However, the situation escalated beyond Dale’s initial request. He was found with duct tape over his mouth, a plastic bag over his head, additional saran wrap around that, and duct tape securing all the layers to his head. Saran wrap was also tightly wrapped around his neck.

When authorities arrived, Rylaarsdam was performing CPR on an unresponsive Dale. He was transported to a local hospital, declared brain dead, and subsequently taken off life support. The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation, ruling it a homicide.

Michaela Rylaarsdam was arrested in February 2025 and is now facing a murder charge. She’s currently behind bars in San Diego, held without bail, and set to appear in court again this April.
